A Christian is forgiven of all their sin. Once forgiven, they are translated (spiritually) into the Kingdom of God. Now, in the Kingdom of God, a believer lives by a new set of rules and understandings. Kingdom living is financially similar to this current world, we put money in the bank to earn interest. The more the bank account is worth the higher the interest. Everyone needs money to live in this world. We get jobs to make money, and kids do chores to make money. The more hours you work, the more money you make. That’s earthly currency! There are very few things in this life, you can purchase without money. Once you understand the principle of work for payment, you will understand a heavenly or kingdom currency! Jesus explained this currency to the rich young ruler, who found it very difficult to hear Jesus say, “sell everything you have, and give the money away!”
When we save carnal money we expect interest, but what do we expect from Biblical Currency? Do we understand our spiritual account? You are earning interest on every loving, or angry deed you do! Think about what Jesus is teaching in His word. Jesus is saying to bless those who hate you. He says to love those who spitefully use you.! Our alms, good deeds or charity is the investment you can expect a return on! Doing unto others is a much weightier command than we understand. So, Understand this! If you slap me – you’ve slapped Jesus! If you feed me? You fed Jesus! “Whatever you do to least of these my brethren, ” Jesus said. You have done it to me! Yes, this is what Jesus taught! Jesus is not against being rich! He is against loving riches more than people.
Do you expect interest on your spiritual account? Our accounts will be full of what we have given. If we give forgiveness we will have forgiveness. In our carnal economy, the boss decides how much you get paid. In Gods economy, you decide, because it is your measure God uses. God is not moved by your holiness, good looks, or fancy cars. It’s not how long we read the Bible or how much we pray! Remember Jesus is teaching about rewards, treasures, and giving! The volume of our giving decides the amount in our account. In Gods economy, you only get what you give. If I give love – I get love! If I give mercy I get mercy! If I give hate bitterness or anger, I get exactly those things in the same measure I gave it. Knowing these things, what kind of life should we live? When we look in the mirror, we should ask ourselves this question. Would I do it to myself? Would I give it to me, or say it about me?
Luke 6:37-38 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal, it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
