Like a foundation that protects the building above it, Jesus is also an anchor. The anchor of a ship is used when a boat is trying to stop and they do not want to drift. The anchor falls to the ground under the sea, it digs in so that the waves can’t take the ship away!
These things are cute. Pictures are encouraging but how do we put these great things into practice? How do they translate into our everyday lives? It requires faith. You have to believe what Jesus said is true. While doing dishes, washing clothes or laying down to sleep, you have to stay in Faith!
When the things of this world pull at us, like waves of the sea – trouble can roll! The Lord inside of us – reminds us these things are temporary. Just like that anchor holds a ship in place – Jesus holds us in place…
So many things we depend on and people to of course pull at us! They are like waves of the sea and so often they can leave us wondering if what we heard was of God or not. They can make us question our ability to be led by God.
Knowing Jesus is our anchor – and foundation!
