John 1:1 In the Beginning was the Word

Self Conscience

Anything like this ever happened to you? Have you ever secretly checked your breath or underarms to find the reason for a snub? To Shun means to: persistently avoid, ignore, or reject through antipathy or caution. Evade, eschew, steer clear of, keep one’s distance from, snub, cold-shoulder, rebuff, spurn, ostracize; give them the brush-off, freeze out, give someone the bum’s rush, give someone the brush off.

   In most cases, a bully elected him or herself judge and jury over some aspect of a persons’ Christianity or daily life. After deciding a brother or sister deserves to be punished they backbit to get allies in their quest. Sometimes bullying is to make a person do or act in a way that the bully wants the person to. Many bullies just want to wield authority over others. When their demands are not heeded, they turn others against the person, and shunning begins. Tools of this trade are backbiting, slander, self – righteousness, and unforgiveness.

 Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Seven times a day? And seven times he asks you to forgive him then shun him for his wrongdoing??? NO! Jesus teaches us to forgive them and treat them as brothers. If you are being shunned by anyone, remember it actually is not God turning His back on you. Sometimes it’s because you are poor. Sometimes it’s your looks or the way you carry yourself! God asks us to repent and when we do, He forgives us. That’s His promise! Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.Jesus actually said, Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

 Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

 If we give mercy, we will get mercy. If we give forgiveness, we will get that back. If we shun people, then won’t we be shunned by God? Jesus said that Gentiles like to Lord it over one another. And He hit that nail on the head. I have seen this in churches to our dismay. Some are not ministering – they are bullying!

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He came to lead His sheep. We are all sheep of His pasture. He wants us to give to each other the same care – He gives to us. Love one another he said. If you love someone, you will not shun or bully them because they do not comply with your ideas. This is flesh. This is the carnal mind. God is love and He died for the whole world. Sinners sin. BUT when Jesus cleanses them, they are no longer a sinner but a child of God and a sheep of His pasture. Be very careful who you bully or shun, they are Gods’ kids! Posted Fri, October 30, 2020
