When I was a little girl in kindergarten, they had a cabinet where we were to put toys when we were done playing with them. I vaguely remember the class, the teacher or what we did there. I do remember that cabinet because it was the first time God ever spoke to my heart. There was a Barbi doll there and I wanted it. I also wanted the bandaids, for some unknown reason… but I was putting them under my coat, you see in my heart I knew it was wrong. Gods’ voice spoke deep inside me to let me know it was bad. Just like any child I ignored it, went home, got in trouble and the next day I had to go in admit what I did and give it back!
This is a true story, and it reminds me of Christians. Sometimes we hear that still small voice deep inside and ignore it, whether its correction, commission or instruction! Did you ever have a tug at your heart telling you to shut up, stop that or quit something and then make excuses why it just couldn’t be God?
Did you ever hear the Lord speak to your heart to pray for someone and disobey because you see yourself as unworthy? We are Children of God if we have asked the Lord to forgive our sins and we believe in Him. We have all come so short of the glory of God. And like kids on the playground at times we compete with each other for Fathers’ attention or blame one another for our faults and failures! Some have genuinely hurt us and we don’t understand why, but remember kids on a playground, kids get hurt and the next few minutes they are right back out playing together. We spend too much time being so-called fruit inspectors that we have left our fruit spoiling on the vine.
Trust God that He is able to convict folks – let’s stop judging them – forgive them and learn to play together on this big playground of life!
Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
