I remember willow trees,
Standing in our yard.
I remember young and free,
Swinging on an old used tire
I remember running,
and my toes lost in the grass.
I remember playing till.
The Sun went down at last.
The days were so much longer then,
With time to laugh and play!
With more time behind me now,
Then I’ll ever see again!
My greatest wish, the gift I’d ask,
Is to walk -back-where I’ve been.
Oh the days I’d like to change,
Words I’d never say again!
There are hands I’d hold once more,
And gentle things I’d say.
If I could stand neath willow trees,
With time to run and play.
